Introduction to Prophecies

Overview of the Three Prophetic Study Papers

The three separate and unique prophetic papers that constitute this study pertaining to end time prophecy and its timeline have its foundation in the books of Revelation and Daniel; along with the comments of Old Testament prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel. Certain of the minor prophets, and including specific statements by Jesus and the apostles will provide a comprehensive basis for biblical discussion concerning the years immediately ahead of us.

For many, prophecy is a difficult subject to understand. The principal stress being, is this man’s opinion and ideas, or is this really the truth of the matter?

What you read will be determinations and conclusions, based on the evidence and facts of scripture made clear by the teachings of Jesus Christ, the prophets and the apostles.

I. The Sequence/Timeline for End Time Prophecy

To keep matters in an orderly manner, so that confusion and misunderstanding are avoided, this presentation has two parts.

The first part explains and proves that indeed there is a 6000-year plan for mankind. The important matter of by what method or standard God causes certain events to happen at the prescribed times is thoroughly discussed. Critical dates are established and placed in their proper place.

The second section deals in detail with the books of Revelation and Daniel. Within the primary set dates is found the timeline/sequence for end time prophecy. This detailed study is specific and pulls in important but little known scriptures that help bring clarity and exactness to the end time events leading to the return of Jesus with His saints.

As you progress through the book of Revelation, with the support of Daniel, a sense of appreciation and understanding will form that will bring wonderment and excitement to end time prophecies. These things are astounding, yet comforting and most refreshing.

II. Identifying the Two Witnesses and Their Commission

One of the most misunderstood subjects of the Bible and especially end time prophecy is how to understand who, and the role of the two witnesses of Revelation 11. Interestingly enough, scripture identifies these two men and details the times and specifics of their three and one half year work.

It will be seen clearly that the final end time warning message has not yet been given by anyone individual or organization. Mankind’s final warning message has been left for others to accomplish in the very near future

Identifying the two witnesses will provide interesting considerations for those Jews who are awaiting the Holy Messiah’s coming. The Jews are actually looking for two deliverers. They are Messiah Ben Joseph and Messiah Ben David. The son of Joseph is considered the physical deliverer who will die immediately preceding the coming of the son of David, the long awaited spiritual deliverer of all mankind. For our Jewish friends, Ben Joseph and Ben David will be identified.

III. The Place of Safety

The prophets and Jesus specifically spoke of a special place of protection in the end time for God’s Church. It is believed this is an area located someplace reasonably close to Jerusalem.

It seems that in recent years, this idea of special protection has faded and is minimized. It is now viewed as only a possibility. A common line of thought consists of two things. First, the tribulation and captivity will not be as comprehensive as taught in the past. Next, the likelihood will be that God will protect His people in the areas they live, or in some way provide for them in remote locations of the land.

These two theories are both wrong. Our lands will be desolate and God’s Church is going to a place of protection for 3-1/2 years and it will be reasonably close to Jerusalem.

This presentation will examine and make clear those related scriptures which must be correctly understood if one is to prepare him/herself for the time and events leading to physical deliverance and protection.

This is a promise. But without understanding, faith and obedience, it will not be obtained.
